DIY Rose Bouquet

By Mae Yeap - November 01, 2017

Roses may not always be a lover's gift, you can gift it to any of your loved ones too. It can fit into any occasion, so if you are out of ideas, roses might be your saviour.

MATERIALS :
Coloured papers*
Sticks
Tissue wrapping papers*
Ribbon*
Cellophane tape
Jute string
Glue
Scissors

*Colours are of your own choices. Try personalizing your bouquet with colours that suit the receiver. You can even refer to the symbolism of the rose's colour!

01. Divide your coloured paper vertically into eight equal strips and cut it.

02. Join two strips together by the shorter end with some glue and you will end up with a very long strip. One long strip makes a rose, so decide on how many roses you would like to make.

03. Paste an end of a strip to the sharp end of the stick with cellophane tape and start rolling. As you roll, fold the strip down by 45 degree every time you reach the end of the fold. Make sure that it is always rolled at the place where you taped it (adding volume to make the rose petals) instead of along the stick. Keep rolling until you reach the end of the strip and secure it with some glue.

04. Repeat step 03 until you are finished with all of your strips.

05. Gather all of your roses and tie the sticks together tightly with a jute string.

06. Wrap the bouquet with wrapping papers, tie it up with a ribbon and you are done!

You may refer to this video if you could not understand, I apologize for the complicated steps description as it is really hard to explain by words. By the way, the video is not mine, it belongs to a YouTube user.

Anyway, good luck and have fun DIYing!
