It has been long since Malaysians are united. Ever since the olden days, colonizers have divided us and created a strong sense of ethnicity in us, putting an end to our kinship. To the younger generation, unity only happens in history where the ancestors fought for independence. Even though everyone is living in peace, no one has ever imagined its occurrence in the modern times.
But today, Malaysians, with the hope for a better future, has once again reunited. Regardless of the colors of skin, races and religions, Malaysians have held hands, stood on the same line, and achieved the change that they have wished for without any disappointment. It is true that there were multitude of challenges but the people did not feel despair and helpless with the system but hope was seen in the process instead.
To be honest, it was a great sight and I believe that no words could describe the feeling everyone felt on that night. People have commented that they have never felt so Malaysian in their lives before and I am sure that most of us can relate to it. The whole world has witnessed the power of unity that is stronger than anything else. Believe it or not, it is our blood and that long night is the prove of it.
